My Asus K55VD only has a 2.4GHz Qualcomm Atheros mini PCIe Wi-Fi chip, and I need a single-band 5GHz-only card but can't find one on Amazon. Please help before the slow Wi-Fi slows you down.

You’ll need a faster laptop. The 2.4GHz Wi-Fi speed is generally sufficient for everyday tasks.

Many 300mbps 5GHz cards are available for under $20. Check Newegg and CDW. The K55VD typically includes a quad-Ivy i7 by default. A budget SSD pairs well with this laptop, making it suitable for daily use without gaming, provided the display is acceptable.

I posted that remark since he inquired about the quickest SSD recently. He might require the most advanced keyboard and touchpad soon, which is why I took extra steps to suggest an upgrade.

I mainly play games. I installed an SSD inside and it comes with a GT610M 2GB drive. However, the screen is really tough on my eyes. Appreciate the suggestion!
