I'm setting up my system and need some guidance on choosing the right M.2 slots for my motherboard. I have:

AMD Ryzen 7700x CPU
Asus Rog Strix x670e-f motherboard
Two Samsung 990 Pro M.2 drives – one 1TB for OS/apps, another 2TB for games

The motherboard lists four slots with specific details about the M.2 devices they support. I want to know which ones fit best and why.

The OS drive is placed in the top slot, and the game drive in the second slot.

Place the OS drive in the nearest slot to the CPU socket. This is because it offers marginally lower latency and is connected directly to the CPU.
