Basic setup? Elemental OS or Ubuntu. With patience and work, any distribution can look fresh and updated. Whether it's Ubuntu or another, it often starts with SteamOS as its foundation. If not, Debian is a solid choice because of that base. All systems let you tweak things. Just get comfortable with the Terminal.

PS4 works on BSD and Android operates on Linux. Both systems easily meet gaming requirements. A lightweight Linux distribution also works well for gaming. With current developer backing, Linux can serve as a solid gaming platform via Steam.
