Hello everyone!
I’m beginning my economics course in a month and am stuck with a decision: desktop or laptop? I need gear for heavy use—Excel, Word, 12 hours daily, three days a week. I want a quiet setup since my current machine makes 54 dB noise (Fujitsu i5 4590 GTX 1050). I’m thinking about getting a desktop now, but in 2027 I’ll be moving out and won’t have a laptop with me. I already have a tablet with a keyboard for mobile work when needed. It’s worth mentioning that I’ll connect the desktop/laptop to a 4K monitor.

For my mobile needs over the next three years:
- Once a week in the library
- 2.5–3.5 months of internships away from home

What would you recommend?

Laptop would be my choice, offering portability and the convenience of carrying your work wherever you go. I’m wondering if these three options are truly the only ones available. Is there really no other way? Are you in Poland?
