I have two devices at home—one with antennas and another without. My question is figuring out which one is the router and which is the modem. I also need to know which one to connect for Ethernet since both have Ethernet ports, but I can tell which one works best right now (the one with antennas).

The antenna functions as your router, which needs an ethernet cable connected to the modem. You can connect your ethernet cable from the computer to the modem using available ports, or link it directly to the router when there are no extra ports on the modem.

However, there are no unique port forwarding options or firewall settings from the modem.

That’s not easy to explain. Several internet service providers provide a device that combines a modem and a router into one unit. If the unit lacks an antenna and includes several Ethernet ports, it’s probably a gateway.
