It all hinges on the specific goal you have in mind.

Looking into gaming, I'm not focusing on setting up a PC but rather seeking insights on the top CPUs for the latest generation.

This version performs marginally better and simplifies cooling.

In most titles the Ryzen 9 aims to boost performance noticeably in certain games, though overall they tend to be fairly similar. Skip the simulated data for the 7800X3d since I’m unsure if the hardware packaging changed to account for the significant clock speed gap between it and the 7950X3d that was removed from the CCD tests.

The gap between this model and the others is around 10%. If you're looking to save money, consider if both options are solid and alternate between them.

Optimal approach is to hold off for two weeks and aim for a 7800X3D.

Modern gaming needs higher resolutions, so 13400F is sufficient today. A 7600X setup easily covers 1080p as well.

What titles are you playing? The Intel chips deliver strong performance, the 7000X3D series chips shine even more when games make use of the cache. Overall they’re fairly balanced, but it depends on the specific games. Linus tested this recently with his own rig: the 7950X performed slightly better in simulation and RTS games, which is why he chose it. The X3D might edge out in those same types thanks to its v-cache, though it’s a bit unpredictable since it’s only on one CCD and can vary based on how Windows manages each game.

It seems 7950X3D often performs better than the i9 13900K across many games. Just a thought—no purchase intention, just curiosity.
