i feel like im overlooking something really stupid but in setting up a laptop for a family member i cant seem to getthe power options right. on the left is there laptp where the power modes is just a drop down menu and you can choose one of 3 modes. on the right is my laptop where i can select modes based on state. best performance when plugged in. best power effeciency when on battery. how do i get this on the left laptop? i swear ive never had this issue before and i set up and configure devices fairly frequently at work or for family.

It seems you're on a different Windows version. You can verify this by typing "winver" into the Start menu search bar. Minor updates like this occur frequently.
