Deciding on the i5 10400F instead of the R5 3600 might not be ideal for upcoming titles released in 2022. The newer processor could offer better performance, while older models may struggle with modern games.

Avoid getting a restricted Intel processor. Particularly that one. If you can use just these two, go for it. 3600.

Yes, it will as the 3600 is unlocked and has higher clocks. Id suggest waiting for Zen3 though.

Thanks for the ideas! I'm on a tighter budget and can't splurge on top-tier GPUs. I'm focusing on the Ryzen 3000 lineup (hope it helps). Do clock speeds really make a big difference in games?

AMD offers many more affordable motherboard choices. You don't have to go with B550 or X570 just yet; B450 should work and can handle the 4000 series.
