I also grew up playing arena shooters such as UT, Quake, Doom, Duke Nukem, etc., but I don't really have a favorite genre. As long as the game is enjoyable, I'll have fun. That said, I'm quite selective because many games nowadays seem to be at their best only occasionally. Apex Legends is the one I play most often these days.

Absolutely, I've been pulled into it despite not usually playing those kinds of games. The Shadowfall event really got me involved, and it's such a great game mode!

I really enjoy multiplayer FPS titles. Growing up, I played Counter Strike and the competitive mod for COD4 named promod. I also enjoyed Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. In TF2, I only played casually for fun. Personally, TF2 feels quite cartoony (Apex Legends is a bit similar and I’m fine with that). Overwatch was something I picked up on day one and played for a short time before stopping. I also believe Overwatch has some terrible gameplay. Still, Co-Op FPS games are entertaining too—like killing the floor in 2 and Payday 2.

Currently, I’m deeply invested in Rainbow Six Siege and have been playing it intensely since its release. Most of my Counter Strike time is in 1.6 and Counter Strike Source, though I still have around 200 hours of Counter Strike Global Offensive.

I’ve also enjoyed multiplayer RTS games, mostly for fun. I particularly like the HD version of Age of Empires 2 multiplayer and Company of Heroes 2 multiplayer.

I recently tried a MOBA and the only game that really stuck was Heroes of the Storm. I didn’t enjoy the long match times in Dota 2 or LoL.

MMOs have often caught my interest, but nothing has really held my attention. I played World of Warcraft for a few expansions, but haven’t touched it in about 5 or 6 years.

I love smooth-playing FPS games (tis why I play Destiny 2) and RPGs. But RPGs usually have shitty (IMO) combat systems so I haven't played as many as I'd like, tis also why I have high hopes for Cyberpunk 2077. The main titles I enjoy are Destiny 2 - for it's FPS combat, RPG elements, fashion game, and playing with my friends - and BOTW - awesome exploration, really fun 3rd person combat, and again the fashion game (though that is more limited than D2's).

I still find MMORPGs captivating, though most don’t really appeal to me. I’ve completed four levels on a couple of titles, and the genre has a rich background. Submarine games have always piqued my interest, but they haven’t quite met the right standards yet.

My favorite genre was RTS. Titles like Tiberian Sun, Red Alert, Red Alert 2, Tiberium Wars, Dark Reign, Cossacks, Sins of a Solar Empire, Generals, and Age of Empires have all left a mark. I also regret missing many games that would have been huge at the time. Now, what remains of my childhood passion is a fondness for city-building games. The new Anno game Linus is promoting is really drawing me in, but the cost and my lingering distrust of Ubisoft hold me back from purchasing it. If SoaSE reduced the map sizes significantly, I’d be back in a moment.
