Hello,
I usually achieve 30-60 fps on games such as Destiny 2 and Apex Legends even with low settings. I want to reach at least 100-120 fps.
I’m new to upgrading my PC components and after some research I’m not sure what changes are necessary. I know that if I upgrade the motherboard, I’d likely need to replace other parts too, so I’m trying to avoid that by choosing something that improves performance without changing the board.
Here’s what I currently have:
Motherboard – GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3
GPU – AMD Radeon™ RX 560 Series
CPU – AMD FX ™- 6300 Six-Core Processor
RAM – 24GB
Storage – 1 TB SSD, 1 TB HDD
Power supply – I’m not sure and might need a new one for the newer parts.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
If I really need a new motherboard…
🙁
Let me know

Honestly, everything feels quite old-fashioned. It seems unnecessary to invest in improving such outdated base specifications. I’d better allocate funds to a fresh project instead.

I need to concur with Frag Maniac. There isn't a sensible upgrade route with your present motherboard. You should consider a totally different setup.

With your existing motherboard and graphics card, it's really not worth it. Just switch to a new motherboard and CPU, and you'll have a fresh setup. This would be a totally new build.
