Which 16" OLED laptop offers more than 15 to 20 hours of battery life?
I need a laptop for basic tasks like editing and viewing PowerPoint. I currently own an Acer Swift Edge with an 16" OLED display, which is very appealing because the big screen works well for spontaneous viewers. My main concern is battery life—it uses an AMD 8840U, which isn’t terrible but falls in the single-digit range. I’d prefer a device I can take out without worrying about running out of power all day.
I’m considering the Galaxy 4Tab 16" or the Zenbook S 16 with Ryzen 370 HX, but there’s a lot of mixed information about their battery performance. Could anyone advise me on suitable options?
Also, I really like the Snapdragon concept because it should be quieter and cooler, though I haven’t found many 16" models lasting 15–20 hours on a single charge.
Thanks!
It's not the CPU issue when running PowerPoint; it's likely the display is consuming most power. The main concern is the energy required to produce the light from the large screen. OLED technology generally uses more power than standard LEDs. Ultimately, it depends on how much battery capacity fits in a laptop. A device with 100lbs of battery could last a week if you carry it around.
I understand your request. Checking for a 16" laptop featuring an OLED display and a battery lasting 15 or more hours, ideally 20 or more, is what I need to do.
It varies with the budget, but the 16" MacBook features a Mini LED screen that outperforms most laptop OLED panels. You still enjoy great contrast while it shines brighter and uses less energy. Additionally, you get access to keynote, which is superior to PowerPoint in terms of presentation quality until Microsoft was exposed.
I watched the Macbook
I'm really enjoying the M4 chip.
My issue is with the tri-fold format:
I prefer having Fedora Linux installed too, which I use as my daily driver. My main desktop runs on Fedora, and using KDE Connect (on my phone also), I can easily share files between all devices.
Also, when I present PowerPoint to potential multi-million dollar investors, I notice a strong perception of someone being a "novice" just because they have a Mac. I used to be one myself and changed it.
Third, does PowerPoint work smoothly in Keynote? Animations and placements seem to break down quite clearly. Both LibreOffice and OnlyOffice (I tried running the presentation on Fedora) behave noticeably poorly.
Thanks <3
I think there might be an Ashi Fedora bistro running on Apple silicon now, and you could dual boot. It also depends on how you share files—like using cloud services between your phone, PC, and Mac. If people are really being petty, maybe consider a skin? I haven't encountered any problems, but you could try running PP on the Mac with your current subscription or even the free version.
