When using a portable USB-C monitor, the main screen will stutter.
Hi everyone
When using my ASUS MB16AC portable USB-C monitor, I notice consistent stutters lasting about one to two seconds on my main display. This becomes obvious when testing on the fx ufotest.com site or when dragging windows sideways on my 49" Samsung monitor connected via DisplayPort to my RTX 3080 Ti. The stutters disappear immediately once I disconnect the MB16AC.
I’m connected to the MB16AC through USB-C on my motherboard, and both my 49" 5120x1440p Samsung screens work fine without issues. However, whenever I connect the MB16AC, the problem starts. The difference is that both my Samsung devices run directly on my RTX 3080 Ti, but the MB16AC via USB-C seems to be routed through my motherboard/CPU.
Anyone know about this issue or a possible solution? I also have an AMD 8700K.
Based on a suggestion from ASUS official Juan Jose Guerrero in the Facebook group ASUS PC DIY Group, I changed from USB-C to USB-A and it significantly reduced the stuttering issues I observed on fx ufotest.com. This has been noted as a solution.
