MB: I recently purchased an Asus X670E-A with gaming features. The R9 7950X3D is paired with 2x G.Skill Trident 16GB DDR5 RAM and an Asus 3080 TuF OC SSD with 500GB capacity. My system becomes very unstable when Expo is turned on, and I often encounter a blue screen during boot—mostly due to memory management issues now, and it won’t create a minidump or write to the event viewer. The latest BIOS (2308) and chipset drivers are installed. Memtest86 passed without errors, but only when Expo wasn’t active; with it enabled, the system would freeze. I’ve tried different versions of Expo and adjusted settings, but the problem persists. Could the CPU be faulty or is my motherboard behaving oddly? Thanks ahead! :3

No, I didn't update the chipset drivers through the AMD website.

I downloaded all the AMD drivers from the provided link. The Memory Context Restore and Power Down Enable settings were turned off earlier, which led to issues. After disabling them, the system functioned properly for a day, but it’s now back to the problem.

I noticed BIOS 2124 from July offers better stability. It lets me use 4x16GB at EXPO. Have you adjusted any other BIOS settings? You probably just set Default and EXPO for testing.

The RAM specifications are based on the latest standards, not outdated DDR5 models. It’s similar to modern kits but may differ from older GSKILL designs that faced compatibility challenges with newer AM5 systems.

I attempted all the solutions I discovered on Reddit or other communities, but it didn’t quite work until recently. I also tried Expo 2 with adjusted timing and some tweaks to MCR and PDE, though stability hasn’t been achieved yet. Maybe I should go with V2124 and let you know what happens.

Rated for 6000MT/s, aiming for performance too. Disabling Expo drops it to 4800, but I mentioned earlier it should still be okay. Memtest86 didn’t detect any issues, so the hardware appears to be in good shape.

He wants details on timing sequences like 36-36-36-96 following speed. I’d install Optimized Defaults and EXPO, keeping other options simple. That’s my usual approach when setting up a machine. Then I adjust the remaining parameters.
