Details: b450 aorus elite Tuf Rtx 3080 Oc R7 3700x Rog 850w 80plus gold Corsair vengeance lpx 3200mhz 16gbx2. Runs at 3133mhz, but the PC won’t even boot at full speed. The issue started yesterday while playing Cyberpunk Great—no problems then. Now, once I start the mouse or move the cursor, the fans get loud and the screen shuts down. This happens in many games like FIFA, F1, Phasmophobia, Fortnite, Warzone, etc. I’ve tried different PSU cables and GPU cables already. Any advice?
Check if disabling xmp resolves the problem and observe any changes. Keep an eye on the GPU temperatures during these tests; they might indicate overheating or another issue.
It's consistently set to 3000mhz, and I recall everything functioning normally at that speed. Cyberpunk still crashed, though the GPU temperatures stayed above 70-80 during play without spiking further.

Unfortunately this is a very common problem, and its no surprise you're seeing on an older card like that. Obviously DDU, normal first step for any GPU issues so just get it out of the way. Typically though, GPU fans to 100% and screens going black are signs of the card failing in some way and it going into a protection mode to save itself. Has the card been opened to re-paste and pad? Its about that time in its life.
Have you tried it before? There’s no guarantee it won’t go wrong, and I’m worried about making mistakes.
