What factors could make the Lenovo Yoga require more than 16GB of RAM? If your daughter is running Word, Excel, Outlook, and 20 open tabs simultaneously, will the 16GB be sufficient?
Thanks. Best Buy offers it for $600! There are also lower Open Box versions available.

I appreciate it for having the 780M, though it's hard to find a good offer on anything with 32GB of RAM. This seems like a really solid deal, and the size and weight match what she needs.

16GB should suffice for these tasks and beyond. Only a handful of users truly require 32GB. It's disappointing that the RAM is soldered, making it unlikely to be upgraded, which is unfortunately common in many slim laptops today.

16gb would suffice for most scenarios, but if she's studying at college or university, then it's better to opt for "design" and "photoshop," where "24-32gb" works best. I just checked some videos for your model and its versions—they’re all soldered, but they do come with 16gb and 32gb options.

I had her go and get one. The 16gb for $600. There is a BestBuy much closer to her. 32gb would have been awesome, but that is likely not showing up for $600 any time soon, I bet.
That was a $300 off sale, close to Black Friday type deal. I was waiting for the Costco February Booklet, and that model only dropped $100 there. The extra ram didn't seem worth that $300 savings to me, and I didn't really see it as an option at Costco or BestBuy. I bet it would be $1,200 at the Lenovo website.
Oh well. I don't want too much buyers remorse. I think it was a good deal on a good computer. Thanks everyone.
