In the title, when I begin a FaceTime call after two seconds, my internet completely stops, but as soon as I end the call, my connection resumes.
What type of internet link do you use? Which download and upload rates are you billed for through your service provider? Identify the model and specifications of your Wi-Fi access point and any related hardware. Is there a Quality of Service feature or equivalent on your device?
I'm quite late but I hope you notice this—I pay for a 100MB down and 8MB up connection. (In Turkey ISPs are really greedy and rarely offer real upload speeds.) I recently purchased a router for my modem, the TP-Link Archer C6. I turned off my modem's Wi-Fi and started using just the router. It instantly fixed my speed problems. The FaceTime issue didn’t exist before. I’m unsure if I have QoS enabled; should I turn it off?* Edit: I checked and it does have QoS active, with my PC bridge set to high priority. It seems you're adjusting download and upload settings to match your internet speed. Avoid surpassing your real capacity as it can harm performance. After using the Archer C6 emulator, consider these additional tips: When FT is active, is another device connected at the same time? (such as P2P downloads, online calls, Windows updates, etc.) A 8Mbps upload can quickly become full and slow all network connections. If IPv6 isn't needed, turn it off in your router's 'Advanced' > 'IPv6' section. Under 'Advanced' > 'System Tools', check if 'NAT Boost' is turned on. Disabling it may help if it's enabled. NAT acceleration works best with higher speeds and can cause problems on slower links. If uPnP isn't activated in 'Advanced' > 'NAT Forwarding', you might need to open ports for FT to function. For WiFi users, enable MU-MIMO via 'Advanced' > 'Wireless' > 'MU-MIMO'. Also, use WPA2-PSK security and AES encryption. You can optimize your WiFi settings later after a wireless survey if wired clients are still slow.
