When I start CS:GO, my display settings shift in and out during gameplay?
So I'm going to try to clarify this situation. I have a resolution of 2560x1440 on Windows, and when I play CSGO with a refresh rate of 240Hz, something changes. If I exit the game and open my desktop, the resolution drops to 1920x1080 at 60Hz. I'm attempting to revert it back in Windows, but as soon as I click back or return to the game, it goes back to 1920x1080 and 60Hz. I've also experienced this on the Nvidia side before, but the result is the same.
I believe this issue occurred about a year ago, and I'm not sure what I did wrong. The only workaround I've tried is uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, though it seems to only fix the problem after a restart.
I've created a short video to demonstrate the error if needed, just watch it briefly. Also, I want to mention that even when I close the game and try to restore the original resolution, it doesn't work.
So I'm uncertain whether anyone will pay attention, but just in case this comes up later, I'm keeping it for future reference in case someone finds this issue. I use VibranceGUI for CSGO and had an option called "Never Change Resolutions" that was left unticked. I didn't realize this would be a concern, but I started looking into it. Now I'm not entirely sure if the fix is permanent, but it seems to work in the short term. Still, I'm unsure if anyone will care, but if I encounter the problem again, I'd like to document it for future users.
