When playing any games, even older ones, my GPU usage jumps to 100% and everything freezes or lags. I've rolled back the graphics driver, reinstalled it, and checked for malware, but nothing found. I also ran a GPU stress test at 99%, everything worked until it reached 100% where lag appeared. The temperatures were normal—CPU at 80°C, GPU at 72°C—but none of the solutions helped. Please assist with the sudden FPS drop.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
If you used DDU during rollback, it’s recommended to manually download the newest drivers for your Nvidia GPU, restart in Safe Mode, and then install the driver via an elevated command—right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator. For your laptop, verify the BIOS version you have at this moment. You can check via their support portal using your laptop’s serial number to see if updates are available. What operating system version are you currently running?

I think the laptop has a 2560x1600 display, which is quite high for a mobile model. Would you like me to lower the resolution in the game settings?

I've tested 1080p and 720p at the lowest settings, but the same problem persists.

Everything is up to date. I have Windows 10 21H1 Build 19043.1320 and haven't tried DDU or safe mode. I'll let you know if it works.

If the DDU fails, I’d opt for a complete format and reinstall instead of searching through various fixes. Also, check if downloading the GeForce Experience from NVIDA clears any conflicting drivers—it removes that driver first and then installs itself, similar to what DDU does.

I believe DDU is the sole method to completely remove the driver, while other approaches still leave some traces of it. DDU has fixed problems for me when all else failed.
