Hi. I just bought a new Windows 11 PC. When Chrome turns on, only Google shows up and there are no extra programs or extensions installed. I tried turning the internet off but nothing stopped anything from happening in my task manager. I can't see an option to turn it on at startup because I don't remember where it is. I looked under Windows settings and Startup but couldn't find it there either.
Do you mean Settings or Apps or Startup? Checked in Chrome to see if an addon is doing it. Open Chrome settings (the 3 dot menu) or type chrome://settings in the address bar and click on System. Turn off Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed save your settings and restart your PC to see if it works. Here is a simpler way to do it: Go to the Start menu and open "Run". Select "msconfig" from the list. Then click on the "Startup" tab at the top. Find any apps or files named Chrome and uncheck them so they won't run. Finally, click "Apply" and then restart your computer to see if it's fixed.
