I use MP3Gain at http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net. The DB setting makes things louder when you pick a bigger number. Can anyone tell me which one to pick that sounds like normal room music, not too quiet and not too loud?

The goal is to make every mp3 have the same volume level, so when you use your app, there won't be any difference in sound between one and another. I'm going to set all of them to 0 gain instead, which lets me decide on the loudness with the audio player itself.

ok, working on some videos. i have been putting dvds on my mp4 player to play on my connected media device (tv). i've tried even ing out the sound in the mp4 so it won't be high and loud sounds, just quiet and even. so i was running the mp3 files through an mp3 gain program. what should be the best db setting for tv
