I wasn't aware that this game had transitioned to Steam, and I moved my account information to Steam via the game's website. However, I’m unable to remove the original version of the game. It appears in my Programs list through the Windows Control Panel, but lacks an icon, and attempting to uninstall it results in an error message and a pop-up from Battle.net. Destiny 2 is no longer accessible through the Battle.net launcher, which represents a significant problem. When I try to uninstall from the control panel, it opens the Battle.net application, but within that app is an error message with a link directing me to the Battle.net website. Clicking this link leads to a support page indicating that the error arises because the game is supposedly already removed.

Furthermore, a Destiny 2 folder exists within the Battle.net directory on my hard drive. My research has yielded no helpful solutions, and I’m uncertain how to completely eliminate the program, which is consuming over 80 GB of space. The only method I discovered involved using a small utility from Microsoft named "MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta," yet it proved ineffective.

Currently, my only viable solution seems to involve deleting the Destiny 2 folder located within the Battle.net directory on my drive and subsequently reinstalling the game through Steam. My concern, however, is that this might leave residual files behind. When I examine the folder, most of the data occupying substantial space consists of files with a .pkg extension, and I am uncertain about the consequences of deleting these without performing a proper uninstall.

This functioned perfectly. It required some effort to understand the program, but after I resolved it, it performed flawlessly.

Actually, I neglected to mention that when it searches for files and folders, you need to choose “select all” first, then choose “delete” to ensure the files are removed. My apologies for the oversight.

Seriously, thank you! That BATTLE.NET decision to take this game offline is ridiculous, and I can’t seem to delete the 80+ gig of files stored on my personal computer.
