What's the most affordable laptop available today?
Which current laptops offer the best overall value for different uses, whether you're into gaming, design, or anything else you need a new machine for? It doesn't matter if it's a $700 model with an i5 and RTX 3050 or a $1700 model with an i9 and RTX 4070, as long as you maximize your investment for the price.
What matters most to you? Weight? Gaming skills? Display quality? Keyboard feel? Upgrade options? Multithreaded app support? Many will be let down by the screen quality. It's best to see and feel the options face-to-face.
The decision came down to personal preferences for each user. For me, it was the small Acer model with an i5 processor, expandable storage and memory. It would be useful as an office machine after finishing my technical training next October, it supports FFXIV at ultra settings with 120+fps, and fits comfortably in a laptop case alongside my Intel Macbook Air and its chargers/accessories. However, the colour quality on the LCD was poor compared to what I've seen before, the speakers felt too noisy for installation, and the build material resembled that of Dell keyboards. I could have chosen an M2 Macbook for a better experience but at a higher cost. Ultimately, I went with the Acer because it matched my needs better, even though it wasn't the most expensive option.
