Searching for suitable CPU options that won’t require changes to your PSU or motherboard. I’m planning a GPU upgrade later if a good deal appears, but right now the priority is boosting CPU performance. In several games it lags slightly but doesn’t cause major FPS drops—just minor speed reductions. Current setup: i3-12100F from Gigabyte B660 DS3H with DDR4 3200MHz RAM, 650W power.

For keeping this motherboard around, the top choice would be a 12600K or 13400—just pick the cheaper one if possible, leaning toward the 12600K. Even then, problems could arise based on your setup. It’s not built well, so it won’t handle very high-end components well. A used 12400F is a better bet because of its affordability and extra cores, which can boost performance in modern games. For higher-end builds, plan to upgrade the whole platform later.

I concur with the previous suggestion. Aim for 12600K/KF or 13400F, whichever is more affordable. If you can enhance the VRMs, they should manage higher temperatures like 13600K/14600K. However, I wouldn’t want to run them at full capacity continuously for extended periods.
