Hey! For storing important data online, I’d suggest being cautious about keeping sensitive folders in Asus Web Storage. While it’s convenient, you might want to consider alternatives like Dropbox for better security and privacy. You could also explore other options that offer stronger encryption and fewer risks of data exposure. Just make sure to review the privacy policies of any service before relying on it for critical information.

I can't discuss the safety of those two systems, but I know what I use: OwnCloud8. I built my own server to manage it, which gives me confidence in keeping everything secure.

They're both protected, but no organization is completely shielded from attacks and vulnerabilities. Dropbox experienced a significant breach around six months ago. Regarding Asus web storage, I've never come across anyone using it and wouldn't suggest it. Instead, I recommend setting up a Raspberry Pi with a BitTorrent sync server—it functions similarly to Dropbox or any other cloud service. https://www.getsync.com/

VerticalDiscussions shared insights with @VirtualR3ality about the bittorrent sync server functioning well. An Android app exists for backing up photos and similar tasks (may need some configuration). A Raspberry Pi is linked to a DMZ on the router, enabling seamless syncing across desktops, laptops, and portable devices. When connected to your home network, it automatically handles LAN synchronization without overloading your internet.
