RAM timings are like the speed rules for how fast your computer can read and write information. They tell you how quickly the memory can respond when the processor needs data. Good RAM timings mean the computer works better and runs smoother. Some numbers are smaller, meaning faster responses, while bigger ones mean slower. It’s all about making sure the computer doesn’t have to wait too long for things to load.
It explains the wait time (in clock cycles) for data the CPU needs before it becomes available. Generally, smaller values are preferable. However, because it's measured in cycles rather than time units like milliseconds, a larger cycle count at a faster clock speed might actually be better than a smaller count at a slower clock speed. You can imagine it as ordering items online: latency shows how long your order takes to arrive.
It shows how long it takes for the memory to finish a task. The shorter the time, the better. But since it’s measured in clock cycles, you need to compare their speeds to understand real performance. The rule is: timing multiplied by 2000 divided by the data speed gives the actual time in nanoseconds. For example, CL30 at 6000 would be 10ns, and CL36 at 8000 would be 9ns.
