What's a LAN party?
I once ran them in my basement during high school. We typically welcomed 6 to 12 guests each time. The period covered was from 2002 to 2006. My basement tends to be chilly but can comfortably hold 12 people with CRT displays and a few Pentium 4 Extremes. It gets quite warm when someone with a big monitor turns it on, causing the screens nearby to warp.
It seems like you're asking about a belief regarding radiation and its effects. Could you clarify what you mean? Are you referring to a specific situation or context? I'm here to help with any questions you have!
Lol no, we followed some guidelines about what to bring. Each person got one monitor, a network cable, and the usual stuff. I set up my basement with a 24-port switch and cables running from the ceiling, which is why I hosted everything. Of course, even with all the rules in place, the mess afterward was terrible, and there was always someone bringing a computer that needed serious fixes instead of playing.
Gaming is quite enjoyable but can also be a source of income.
Return to early 2008, pick up a guy’s house an hour away, transport the antec p180 (~70 lbs) in the car with a 4:3 monitor, arrive at the place, set up a million Cat5 cables throughout with roughly two extra switches on the network, debate which game to play, decide on CS:GO and end up with 25 participants joining a random minigame server, vote everyone else already on the server (top kek, especially since it’s not a coordinated effort by all on the LAN), get exhausted, drive to McDonald’s for snacks, watch a movie that nobody really wants to see, then head back home. Lan party.
