Searching for casual racing titles suitable for a relaxed gaming session with your dad. We’ll use a single headset (Meta 3) and a PC (5700 3060 Ti), focusing on games where competition is the main goal rather than multiplayer features. Ford Falcon Utes (especially AU special editions and BA’s) sound like a great choice. Appreciate any suggestions you can share!

It's seldom accomplished. Dirt Rally 2 shines at its best. EA Sports WRC performs poorly in VR and looks significantly less polished. Assetto Corsa offers solid gameplay and mods, though the VR interface is terrible. You'll still need a mouse and keyboard. BeamNG.drive is entertaining but feels more like an app than a full game, and it runs badly. The VR controls are also quite poor. Automobilista 2 boasts excellent VR compatibility but lacks depth in gameplay and offers a limited car range. Project Cars Racing 2 is dated with some arcade elements but provides decent VR support. I haven't played Gran Turismo 7 yet, but I'm considering spending a lot on PS5 and PSVR2 just for a genuine racing experience with quality cars.

It's disappointing that VR isn't the key element in racing games. I'll give it a shot with most of them. Thanks for the suggestions! If you know any other great VR experiences, feel free to share.

The upcoming Assetto Coura EVO is expected to debut in January and seems quite appealing. iRacing remains the top choice for sim racing, offering a more realistic experience than arcade games. For those who enjoy flying, VOTL VR is a solid option that works with your motion controllers. If you have a HOTAS rig, consider MSFS 2020/2024 for civilian flight or DCS World/IL2 for combat missions—though these require significant PC upgrades to enhance graphics. Warthunder provides an arcade feel with grinding unlocks like Project Wingman, ideal if you prefer Ace Combat-style gameplay in VR. Walkabout Minigolf offers a great experience on the headset or can be streamed from your PC. American Truck Simulator or European Truck Simulator 2 let you drive trucks in VR; Elite Dangerous is perfect for flying space cargo ships with combat and mining elements, though the Odyssey DLC isn't compatible. No Mans Sky VR brings Minecraft into VR, while Arizona Sunshine 1/2 (especially cooperative mode) is worth checking out.
