Compare the hardware and software needs of After Effects versions with your laptop. Most apps list requirements as "minimal," "recommended," and "best." You prefer not to settle for minimal and aim for the highest possible performance within your budget, ensuring it fits comfortably on your device. Refer to Adobe’s hardware guidelines for more details.

The issue lies not with After Effects, but with the project size you're working with.
The program functions normally, yet it struggles to load graphics and apply effects due to high system demands.
8Gb will restrict the available size, resolution, and color depth, making it difficult to load graphics and then add effects.
