I'm looking for affordable PC options right now. I saw an Optiplex refurbished build with a GTX 960 and wanted to know more. My aim is to build a refurbished PC that performs well, so I’m seeking your advice and suggestions.

Beast and Dell Optiplex should not be mentioned together in the same sentence.

I know lol. I mean outside of an optiplex. I understand it shouldn't be linked with the word "beast".

I get it. I was talking about what inspired the updated PC build.

The issue lies in the fact that although older prebuilt systems can serve well as affordable options on a limited budget, they are unsuitable for upgrading. These units typically consist of proprietary cases, motherboards, and power supplies—often low-quality components paired with the cheapest available RAM. As a result, you may need to replace the case, motherboard, and RAM entirely, and many of these prebuilt models come with tiny GPUs and minimal cooling options.

If your goal is to create a long-term build from scratch with a tight budget, it’s essential to search for affordable aftermarket parts on platforms like eBay. This way, you can assemble a system that remains functional even after upgrading individual components. You might achieve satisfactory performance with an Optiplex, but by then, the setup will feel more like a temporary solution, leaving you back to basics when you upgrade key parts.
