I received the beta demo to anthem and am looking for a more stable gaming experience with higher FPS and increased graphics settings. Currently, I’m running at low settings (1080x1920) with about 60 FPS until combat starts, after which it drops sharply. I’d like to move to medium settings with consistent performance and no stutters. Any advice on upgrading? I was considering RAM or the CPU.

Launch the task manager during the FPS drop and identify the component operating at full capacity.

It seems the quadcore CPU is likely operating with reduced speed memory.

Typically, the CPI and GPU are the main factors. The RAM is consuming about 6.2 gigabytes out of the total 8

If the CPU reaches 100%, I would consider swapping it for an R5 1600.

No No, believe me, get an i7 as minimum i7 7700K, or recommended 8700K and have piece in mind, this is an open world game that needs a multi threaded CPU.
smooth game play = Fast CPU.

No. R5 1600 features 6c 12threads, whereas the i7 7700k only has 4c 8threads. The 8700k is a stronger suggestion since it also offers 6c 12threads, but it would require purchasing a new motherboard and would only provide a slight boost in FPS.
The truth is that the R5 1600 is roughly 2-3 times more affordable than the i7 models, yet still performs adequately.

if it has 6 cores and 12 threads it's excellent. or if you don't have motebhaord support, you can obtain the ryzen 7 1800 with 8 cores and 16 threads.

I don't rely on the demo since the build is six months old with many changes. If they push for heavy monetization, you might not enjoy playing.
