Thanks for the input. I don’t expect a new PSU for a long time. I purchased it shortly after getting the new graphics card and realized my original 750w PSU wasn’t sufficient for it. After considering all the feedback, I’m leaning toward choosing the CPU and possibly adding a cooler and thermal paste. Of course, thermal paste is important! Why would they stock so much when you only need a small amount? LOL

You don't need to purchase paste if you already have it. Unless it's outdated.
Why do they sell so much? I believe it doesn't significantly affect their profit margin, and if they sold just one drop for the price, people would attack them with torches and pitchforks.

This way everyone is content (to grumble about something else).
If you're not in a rush, you can take the time to search for discounts and deals on a new CPU. The 14700K is a bit expensive. Worth it, but it's still $400
