Uncertain about the price, but I found it for $60 USD. It’s clearly been worth the investment for me, considering I’ve spent more than 200 hours working on it since its PC release. The story mode is particularly enjoyable.

I really like Mount & Blade: Warband. You assemble a force and lead it until you can attack castles and rule as king. It provides a solid blend of strategy and combat. While it's not an open world, it still captures that feel. I purchased it during the Steam summer sale for $2.50, and I believe the RPG value is around $20.
