I just discovered an sale at Origin/Ea on a battlefield game. It was perfect since I really wanted a WWII title. I have two choices: original Battlefield 1 or the newest version, Battlefield V. Could you help me decide?

Also, my budget is about AUD 15 (not too much, but I can stretch it a bit). Battlefield V costs around AUD 19 from roughly AUD 50, while Battlefield I is AUD 12 from about AUD 30. I haven’t played any WWII or WWI games before and am new to desktop gaming—hope you give me good advice!

Original Battlefield? You mean Battlefield 1942? Or are you talking about Battlefield 1 from 2016?

Between 1 and V, I’d pick 1 since the mechanics appeal to many, yet for higher FPS and visual impact you can opt for V. The BF1 campaign is also a solid choice if you’re interested.

Apologies, I misunderstood. It's Battlefield 1. I assumed it was the same... sorry about that.

I really liked BF1 more. It seemed more well-balanced, the controls felt smoother, and it was just more enjoyable overall. BF5 came across as incomplete, even though it's improved since release. Although it hasn't reached the same level of polish as BF1, DICE appears to have stopped working on it a few months ago. That doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy BF5 either—it was just that the launch was so disappointing it reduced my satisfaction. Still, BF5 seems to have more players than BF1, which is another factor to think about. If you're not getting the Premium Pass with BF1, I’d probably choose BF5 instead, though I recommend checking out some gameplay videos for both yourself.
