You're preparing to assemble your own PC and are focused on the steps after installation. Make sure to install essential drivers first, then follow the recommended software setup, including Microsoft Security Essentials. Check the manufacturer's guidelines for the correct order and any additional requirements.

1) Set up the drivers.
2) Download some stress tests and verify your system is stable, then execute benchmarks to confirm performance.
3) Gather any additional resources you might need (recommended link: https://ninite.com/).
4) Have fun!

While setting up the drivers, enjoy a beer or two. Then drift off to sleep at the keyboard. The next day, clean the keyboard.

Visit your motherboard maker’s site, download all required drivers. No need to rush—place your order later. Next, perform a few stress tests (Prime 95, Memtest, Unigine Heaven) and unwind while you wait.

First, drivers and updates. Then I set up every base software I use and configure them. Often I do this while updates are active. Perhaps on the second day I run benchmarks and compare to earlier systems.
