Hello, Your existing setup runs at 8x2 with 2400MHz RAM and you're thinking about a 32GB upgrade. You're considering three options: Kingston Fury 32GB at 3600MHz, G.SKILL Trident Z RGB 32GB at 3200MHz, and Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB at 3600MHz. The Fury is more affordable, while the Trident Z offers better timing and the Vengeance provides higher speed. Since you mainly use your PC for gaming, it's hard to decide definitively. Your current configuration includes an ASUS TUF Z790 Plus with 16GB 2400MHz RAM and 8x2 6GB RAM. Thanks in advance for your help.
3200 CL16 and 3600 CL18 are essentially identical in speed. Choose whichever style suits you best.
Hey there! You're in the right place. The Kingston Fury and G.Skill are pretty similar, especially at 3200 CL16 and 3600 CL18. They both work well, though the memory frequency is a bit higher on the Fury, but performance gains aren't exactly the same.
Thank you all for your responses and for the warm welcome, CommanderAlex!
Consider the available options for aggregate transfer and choose the one with the best performance. A 3200MHz cl16 and a 3600MHz cl18 perform similarly in terms of operations per second. However, the 3600MHz memory can finish requests in a single cycle, whereas the 3200MHz needs two cycles. That’s why I usually recommend selecting the faster memory speed unless other factors match.
Thanks everyone. I chose the Corsair Vengeance. I wanted the Trident Z for its appearance, but it looks like they were out of stock even though the site said it was available. Still, it’s pretty good.
