Hello, I have a computer that I bought 2nd hand and I'm trying to get it working because my main computer is no longer working.
I'm fairly new to learning about computers and I don't exactly know what I'm doing but I will list all the details I have for it.
It is an Asus Computer
It has an LGA2011 Motherboard
-Intel i7 4960x
-GEFORCE GTX 1650 Super
-GEFORCE GTX 780Ti
-HX1000 PSU
-(2) 4TB Hard Drives connected via SATA
-I also have an M.2 Drive SSD (256gb) connected via an adapter to a PCIE slot.
The Problem: Luckily I have already made a windows install USB drive, which I have plugged in to the computer. I opened up the BIOS and made it boot from that drive. I installed windows and selected one of the 4TB hard drives to download it to.
Once it has finished, it resets and I once again open the BIOS and change the boot drive to the 4TB Hard drive. When I do that I just get a screen that says reboot and select proper boot drive.
If I just let it turn on like normal, it goes back to the beginning of the installation from the USB drive. What do I do to make this work??
Update: I am trying to follow what you all have suggested so far and unplugged all the other drives. I have formatted the drive I want to install windows on (4TB HDD) but now when I go to download windows onto again, it says it is unable because it is in GPT. What is that? I literally just installed Windows on that drive 10 minutes ago and now it's saying it's unable to after I formatted it.

The m.2 SSD I installed in the PCIE slot has a functional Windows 11 installation from my previous computer, but I thought it wouldn't work until I could make an update. At the moment, it's the only drive connected. I've removed the others. A new screen now appears with the message: the current BIOS settings don't fully support the boot device. It suggests going to the CSM parameters and adjusting them to enable the boot device.

I've tried changing everything in the CSM parameters, but nothing has resolved the issue. I'm currently uploading pictures to that link. I also attempted what you recommended earlier, but now when I try to install Windows on the same drive it was just a few minutes ago, it says it can't because it's in GPT mode or something similar.

Several older systems can successfully start from a M.2 in a PCIe slot.
Yes.
When setting up the HDD installation, remove every existing partition before continuing.

I have already completed all those steps and still encounter issues. I repeatedly reach one of those two screens that I've already described, and I've uploaded pictures of
Okay. Now I only have one HDD connected. I've even removed the m.2 drive from the PCIe slot. All partitions on the only HDD have been deleted. I'm currently downloading Windows and installing it to that HDD. I'll update you on the outcome
