What steps are needed to delete OneDrive?
I only turned it off. That was enough for me. I didn't remove it because I could choose to use it later.
I operate online trading. Everything was functioning well until I installed a software ninja trader. Immediately it triggered an issue. Also observed some files that didn't work properly, such as Windows fax and scan. There were numerous apps that I wasn't aware of, which had been uploaded to the cloud through file synchronization. When I attempted to disable or uninstall a drive, other programs failed to operate. Obviously, this was all from a program I had never used before and didn't need.
Now I only see options like reinstalling without an internet connection, as I hope. I don't want to lose my data. I don't use OneDrive or the Microsoft account; I prefer keeping everything on my own device. Thank you for your assistance. However, it seems I've made a significant mistake. At 71, my memory isn't very sharp. I can't recall all the steps I took. Just let me know if I can easily reinstall the drive and start fresh while the PC is still under warranty.
I managed to retrieve my product code and Bitlocker recovery keys, which is something I had never encountered before. I've heard rumors that Microsoft doesn't permit rebuilds even with a product key. I purchased this mini PC on Amazon without any paperwork. My old computer still functions properly enough to make the switch because of the phase-out of Windows 10.
Thanks for your help. I plan to image the drive first and keep a backup just in case before proceeding with the reinstall.
I received your message and provided two links that could assist you.
I’m 72 or 73 years old (September), and my age gives me the benefit of many years of experience. Don’t underestimate it!
I use Windows 11 Pro, version 24H2, on two computers. I’ve removed OneDrive from both and haven’t encountered any problems. Scans with SFC and DISM show clean results. I’m confident that removing OneDrive has resolved any issues.
Good luck, and may you safely delete OneDrive.
Have a great day.

Phil
I was about to erase my new drive when I found a video on YouTube. I wasn’t sure if I could share it here.
In short, I set up a local user and skipped the one-drive and Microsoft setup using some command-line directory commands. It was quick, safe, and effective—it worked perfectly.
Everything is now functioning properly.
Even Ninja Trader, since I no longer have a single drive. This creates a local account with only the files installed from the factory. The best part is I can delete the user I previously created.
If you need the link, just let me know.
Thank you all for your help—it saved me a lot of time!
