I aim to set up an eBay account that isn’t tied to my personal information, allowing me to run a specialized store instead of selling anything broadly. I understand how eBay connects accounts through IP addresses, browser cookies, and personal details. I’m familiar with several tools and extensions, but most except one require paid software. I wanted to talk this over with people who have more experience than me.

I’ve been reviewing the following options:
Firefox Multi-Account Containers (Free-Open Source)
MultiLogin ($294/YR)
LoginWays ($420/YR)
HydraHeaders (Free) – part of Hydra Proxys (note: proxies aren’t free)
I believe a few software choices include proxies, though I’ll need to verify. If I must provide my own proxies, I’d recommend using Residentials and Mobile.

I don’t want unnecessary features, but I also don’t want to waste time setting everything up only to have the eBay account blocked because the chosen option failed to perform as expected.

This approach doesn't address the core issue effectively.

It seems you're questioning whether someone is attempting to increase the value of their listings by placing bids.

Due to potential problems with a single account, all subsequent accounts would be placed on hold, which undermines the value of having multiple stores or accounts. This isn't about those kinds of concerns. If I needed to run bids, it would be straightforward. More details are needed to understand whether selling versus just being a buyer account is the right choice, I’m sure.

In short, here’s what and why I aim to do this:
I operate an eBay store I started in November 2020. In August or September 2021, I acquired my wife’s eBay account—one she hadn’t used since college but had set up during her studies. I converted it into a shop and began shipping small items from Amazon to eBay. It served as a test. I sold inexpensive products (under $25) earning around $1 or more per item. The process relied on third-party software that complied with eBay rules, though some tracking numbers didn’t update properly. After 25–35 orders, about 15 lacked assigned tracking, yet eBay marked them as shipped, received, or delivered. I linked her account to mine and placed holds on both accounts due to the mismatched tracking info.

I spent roughly 10 hours cross-checking Amazon orders with Amazon listings—matching addresses, names, product details, and confirming delivery proof, often with photos of packages on doorsteps. Around a third of customers without tracking numbers left positive comments. I reached out to all affected clients to confirm receipt, and about two-thirds replied affirmatively, expressing satisfaction.

I recognize this touches on technicalities. If we’re discussing “technicalities,” it could breach our terms of service for dropping ship from Amazon. However, many stores with excellent ratings (4.5 stars or higher) maintain strong reputations on eBay, listing popular items like Xbox consoles, PS5s, and GPUs. Their photos will clearly show high sales numbers—often 24 units sold per item—and listings will display quantities of identical products.

In comparison to what’s currently possible, I’m aiming for a minimal cost.

Concerning your inquiry about eBay's reaction to your actions and the evidence you presented, it seems that their response would depend on their stance toward your efforts. If they do not approve or support what you've done, it may be difficult to find assistance. Particularly concerning "workarounds," engaging with them could likely breach forum guidelines. This is just my perspective.

Yeah, if they suspended you then it wouldn't be legitimate, man. Sorry, no help.

EBay remains the least ideal platform for selling, yet its popularity and sales volume push me to use it. The team handling discrepancies with tracking numbers isn’t one that interacts publicly—they only respond via email using generic replies or questions. The CSR members are hardly helpful, offering little more than basic information.

<Mod Edit>
From Wild Honey, when it comes to anything beyond lost password help, I attempted to contact managers but was misled. When I asked for supervisors, I received the same misleading answers. Each conversation gave conflicting guidance on how to proceed. Regardless of the chat or call, instructions changed constantly—sometimes they told me to reply to certain emails and other times to follow different ones. I followed every instruction they gave.

Three separate situations: they asked me to provide something, I did it; they asked for more, I provided; they kept asking for even more, and still I complied. Because it makes sense not to request everything upfront and waste people’s time.

The deciding factor was their inability to verify every tracking number as “Delivered.” They revoked my seller privileges for one account, but kept mine intact. Since they couldn’t prove all numbers were delivered, they decided I couldn’t use the platform further.

I can’t start another store through standard methods because it would be linked to me if they connect it—though they won’t. You learn from experience.

It’s just as absurd that one account was suspended for selling $11 worth of products online while others selling via merchandise are unhindered. EBay seems to value legitimacy in listings, like the PS5 images, and charges a premium to enforce it. They’re not fools—they’re protecting their business.

If you break the terms of service properly, you’ll be okay.

Both of my stores received completely positive feedback from customers. I'll work on resolving this.
