I understand that the recommended temperature for Intel CPUs is below 85 degrees. How can I confirm if my 3570K is damaged?

Don't be concerned about that 100C for a brief moment. The CPU includes safeguards against such issues. Your system would have stopped or restarted to protect the CPU from harm. The best way to confirm is to use it as usual and check for any problems. I believe you're okay. This didn't harm the CPU.

In fact, this occurred in three tests. I was expecting the shutdown to happen, but it didn’t. Could this indicate that the protection system didn’t activate or isn’t working properly?
