I’ve been curious about the real risks of boosting CPU or GPU voltage and its impact on their longevity.
How significantly does increasing voltage influence lifespan in practice?
If I plotted voltage changes against lost hours, would the relationship be straight-line or exponential?
What amount of time can I expect to lose from my CPU’s life at a specific voltage rise?
Even with a small voltage increase, will it still shorten its lifespan?
I’ve also heard about adjusting the base clock speed for CPUs, though I’m not very familiar with this and some people warn it can be damaging. Any advice?

I don't have exact numbers, but there are some exceptions to this rule. As long as things stay cool, an overvolted CPU or GPU should last just like one at normal voltage. My FX-6350 has been boosted to 1.42-1.45v since I bought it about four years ago, and it still performs well compared to when I first got it. If you maintain a stable temperature, upgrading before the CPU fails is probably the best approach.
