I'm seeking advice on purchasing an additional graphics card to support more monitors at 60Hz and 1080p, as well as running a GTX 970 to power a 144Hz 1080p monitor. For a 60Hz display, what VRAM recommendation would you suggest? This is for YouTube, Netflix, and similar use cases.

Two identical graphics cards need to be connected via SLI on the same computer. Vram is unrelated to multi-monitor performance; get 4gb.

I thought I could simply get a second inexpensive card to run the second monitor and would be able to use both graphics cards simultaneously without needing the SLI connection. For this setup, I would use a GTX 970 for the 144Hz monitor and a 2GB graphics card for the secondary 60Hz monitor. Would it be possible to run both cards together in a PC?

Alpaca Gang :
I thought I could simply get a second cheap card to run the second monitor and handle both graphics cards without using SLI. For this case, I was considering a GTX 970 for the 144Hz display and a 2GB card for the secondary 60Hz monitor. Would I really be able to run both in a PC at once? Are the non-144Hz monitors meant for web browsing only? If yes, then yes, you can install a budget card and avoid SLI for extra displays. Assuming your motherboard supports more than one GPU, though you might be able to use the built-in graphics. Could you tell me what motherboard and CPU you have?
