Check out how far you can take this, since I’m pretty comfortable with PCs but worried about doing it by hand. Here are your current specs.

I was taken aback by the fact that the board runs a 12nm 8-core processor. It’s unlikely you’ll be able to achieve anything meaningful with it. I wouldn’t recommend pairing it with an 8-core chip. Ryzen also doesn’t offer much room for overclocking. If you’re willing, you could upgrade the board.

Thanks for your prompt response. It gets the task done, though there are some drawbacks. I mainly purchased this as a ready-made unit and swapped out the old RAM and GPU myself.

yea, that explains the board and cpu combo, yea with this board, sadly not much can be done in terms of overclocking, but as i said, ryzen does not have a big headroom anyways really.

For a budget setup, consider the AMD Ryzen 3 or Intel Core i3 with integrated graphics. If you want better performance, look into the AMD Ryzen 5 or Intel Core i3 with a dedicated GPU.

gpu isn't the focus here since it's about the board. Tomahawk Max, Mortar Max (4 50A discrete mosfets), Pro 4, Pro VDH Max. A Pro Max (non-M) would work if it functions now. You can hold off, but overclocking isn't really possible here and Ryzen doesn't offer much room for it.

I might go ahead and purchase it right now. It looks more affordable than I initially thought. From an OC perspective, I don’t really need to change it, but I figured it could improve performance. Thanks, TofuHaroto!

I understand if it feels tough right now. If you're okay with it, we can take some time. No worries.
