Looking for a suitable operating system for an old laptop running Core2duo at 2GHz with limited storage. Need something lightweight for storage and internet use. Dual boot options like Lubuntu and Elementary are being considered—though the plan leans toward Elementary since it looks good. Thanks!

Linux or version 8.1 works fine with older devices because it performs well on low-power tablets.

Choose any of these lightweight options—Lubuntu, Linux Mint, or Puppy Linux. They use minimal resources and require very little hardware.

I’d pick 10 if they weren’t there, but I’m really excited! #so, so many Linux options to consider.

Lubuntu is the most minimal version of Ubuntu, offering consistent stability. It’s a good choice if you prioritize smooth performance without complications. Avoid Puppy Linux for a hassle-free experience.

-Ubuntu Mint -Basic Operating System - My suggestion, appears excellent and functions well, I maintain it on a vintage 1.7GHz single-core machine with 1GB RAM and a built-in graphics card.
