Hey there,
I’m looking to purchase a new gaming laptop for 3D rendering, engineering work, and gaming. I have a few options in mind and would appreciate your advice.

Legion Pro 5i = 1500$
Intel® Core i9-13900HX
+ RTX 4070
Laptop GPU (8 GB)
32 GB DDR5-5600 MHz RAM
16" diagonal, QHD (2560 x 1440), 240Hz
3 ms response time, IPS, Anti-Glare / Matte, Low Blue Light, 500 nits
4-Cell: 80 Wh
ROG Strix G16 2023 = 1760$

Intel® Core i9-14900HX
+ RTX 4060
Laptop GPU (8 GB)
32 GB DDR5-5600 MHz RAM
16" diagonal, QHD (2560 x 1440), 240Hz
3 ms response time, IPS, Anti-Glare / Matte, 500 nits
4-Cell: 90 Wh

Victus 16 = 1600$
Intel® Core™ i7-13700H
+ RTX 4060
Laptop GPU (8 GB)
32 GB DDR5-5200 MHz RAM
16.1" diagonal, QHD (2560 x 1440), 165Hz
3 ms response time, IPS, micro-edge, anti-glare, Low Blue Light, 300 nits
6-cell, 83 Wh Li-ion polymer

Your thoughts are welcome! The best cooling system is ROG Strix, but it doesn’t outperform the others in GPU. Legion offers the best value, though its battery life is low. Victorus sits in the middle with a decent refresh rate.

Can you help me decide?

Not expected to reach 240 FPS at QHD with a 4060 or 4070 unless you're playing very light or older games.
Battery capacity isn't a major concern; when the GPU is used or the CPU is under stress, it usually needs to be connected.
AMD CPU options like 7840HS, 7940HS, 8845HS, and 8945HS are quite similar if you're comparing models.

Oh wow, I was hoping for a reply. What do you think?
I compared the Ryzen to Intel and found it really bad. I’m looking for a laptop built for heavy use, and if I raise the base model to 4080, would that make a difference or just be a waste?

The i9 offers a notable edge, while the others fall short. The 7840hs is also the least efficient among AMD's latest chips.

Focusing on gaming performance, a 4080 is definitely beneficial and would aid any computational tasks as well.
