Inspect the laser on the mouse for cleanliness and ensure it's not obstructed by debris. It’s possible the mouse is malfunctioning, so consider running it in safe mode to see if a program is causing interference.

If you’re using Windows 10, attempt a secure startup.

Press ‘sec’, ‘hold’ ‘shift’, and click on the “start flag” at the bottom. Turn power off, then restart while keeping ‘shift’ pressed, navigate to “advanced startup,” choose “safe boot mode,” and log in to Windows. Observe if your mouse continues to exhibit unusual behavior.

Should this action fail, attempt to disconnect all devices connected to your computer that have both an input and a plug, then insert your mouse into a different USB port. If this still doesn’t resolve the issue, consider restoring your system to an earlier backup or installing Windows again if feasible. If none of these steps are successful, I am highly confident that the problem lies with your mouse device. I apologize if we are unable to resolve this issue.

I recently found an older discussion regarding utilizing Mouseset’s software and reducing the DPI—you might want to experiment with that as well.
