Hello, I'm here to help you with your router purchase. Since you're in a small apartment of 39 m2 and currently use 1000/1000mbit internet, you'll want a device that supports stable connections for gaming. Consider a router with good range and speed, like a Wi-Fi 6 or 6E model. For a fair price, look for models offering at least 1 Gbps download speed and decent coverage in your space. If you plan to upgrade later, investing in a future-proof router with Wi-Fi 7 capabilities could be wise. Your current setup is fine now, but upgrading soon will ensure better performance.

Check which gadgets connect via Wi-Fi. It could help identify what you require. It depends on whether your device supports Wi-Fi 6 and if you have the budget for it.

You're right, currently it's just a PS4. In the future, I plan to upgrade to a new gaming laptop and possibly a PS5.

For this configuration you don’t need anything overly advanced, but a WiFi 6 (AX) router is essential. Even if not every device supports WiFi 6, you’ll still enjoy improved coverage and stability on older hardware. WiFi 5 falls short in real-world performance, whereas WiFi 6 should handle it well when both ends are compatible. Besides that, look for products with strong user feedback. I’d generally steer clear of Netgear’s consumer models, as they often underperform, while TP-Link has proven reliable for me.
