I'm trying to fit a GPU into an off desktop without buying a new case, and I prefer not to purchase another one. I've already decided on the GPU I want—GeForce GTX 1080 TI ARMOR 11G OC.
Currently, I have a refurbished prebuilt HP Prodesk 600 G3, and haven't made any changes yet. I'm planning to install it in my existing motherboard, which has a GPU slot.
Could there be a way to mount the GPU externally or something similar? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is the case a mini, SFF, or mini tower? This model was available in three distinct sizes. First, the GPU is too large for the case, requiring a PCIe riser cable to relocate it outside. Second, the PSU isn’t sufficient to power the GPU, so you’d need an additional PSU and a wiring solution to activate it when the primary one starts. Third, the proprietary PSU only provides ground and 12V connections that connect to the motherboard, limiting replacements to those designed by HP.
Could replacing the PSU improve things? The GPU's selection indicates it requires PCIe x16. I picked the 1080ti since I intend to use it in a later project, and it performs well alongside my current CPU without significant issues.
And specify where this PSU should be placed. The SFF case won't fit a standard ATX PSU. The problem isn't the GPU, but the slot on the SFF motherboard. These boards are usually built to accept only low-power GPUs, which don't supply the full 75w that an ATX slot provides.
