What method is used to link a monitor docking station with both a laptop and a desktop?

Last week I purchased a monitor that also serves as a docking station for my work laptop. Now I’m aiming to assemble my first gaming PC and link it to the same monitor. The challenge is figuring out how to establish this connection without altering how I connect my keyboard and mouse.
The setup looks like this:
- Acer Nitro XV272U KFbmiipruzx 27" WQHD 2560 x 1440 300Hz, which can also act as a docking station via USB-C that supplies power to my laptop (65W).
- My working laptop HP EliteBook 840 G7 connected through USB-C to the monitor.
- Razer Deathadder mouse plugged into the monitor via USB 3.0.
- Corsair K55 keyboard connected via USB 3.0 to the monitor.
I’m planning to build my first desktop gaming PC soon, focusing mainly on AMD components that work well with my monitor’s Freesync Premium feature.
Question: How can I link the desktop to the monitor while retaining the USB-C hub functionality (including power) for my laptop? I want to avoid changing my keyboard and mouse connections and ensure no loss of frame rates between the two devices.
My monitor comes with these cables:
- HDMI to HDMI cable
- DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable
- USB B to USB 3 cable.
