What makes a solid TRUE 7.1 headphone?
Hello,
I'm searching for a pair of TRUE 7.1 surround sound headphones that are straightforward to use without any accompanying software. I prefer wired options from a trustworthy brand and avoid the "gaming" style headsets often marketed as such. I need high-quality, clear audio with a comfortable fit—especially avoiding leather earcups that can cause discomfort in warm weather. Looking for something that works well during long computer use.
Thank you!
If leather or vinyl pads aren't your preference, the Philips Fidelio X2HR offer good value for the price. As before, multi-driver headphones don't significantly surpass standard options. The more affordable Philips SHP9500 also perform well and are among the top two to three comfortable choices. They may not match the Fidelio in sound quality, but they're much more comfortable for extended wear.
For those with a higher budget, alternatives like the premium Sennheiser models are available, though this depends on your spending goals.
7.1 in headphones reaches 100% performance.
Earlier, I owned razer tiamat models with five drivers per ear; they performed poorly or were confusing. A test showed that virtual 7.1 could match real headphones quite closely, though it was nearly identical to standard stereo setups.
