Your budget is 500 dollars.
The notebook size you are thinking about doesn’t matter.
You’re not concerned about the screen resolution.
You prefer a desktop replacement laptop.
You don’t need much battery life.
You’d like to play games on your laptop. If yes, please list the games and their desired settings (Low, Medium or High).
Only AOE3 and AOE4 are required.
You need 250 minutes of hard drive space.
If you’re looking at specific sites to buy from, share their links only from us.
You plan to keep your laptop for several years.
You want a DVD ROM/Writer or Bluray ROM/Writer optical drive.
None is preferred.
Your preferred brands and those you dislike are not specified.
You live in the USA.
If needed, mention that your laptop needs good cooling.

It's highly improbable you'll discover a laptop under 500 dollars with sufficient graphics to run AOE4 smoothly, especially if it struggles to handle even moderate settings—this would likely result in a dated experience reminiscent of the 90s. A dedicated graphics card is essential for achieving acceptable performance without compromising on visual quality. Used models are even less desirable since they often suffer from thermal issues, making them unsuitable for regular use. Unless you're indifferent to graphics, this option remains the most viable choice.

Cooling performance in laptops isn't a major factor, which is why they're generally unsuitable for sustained high-heat gaming sessions. AOE4 isn't overly demanding, but relying on a used device without dedicated graphics would be impractical if you aim for long-term use. If graphics aren't a priority, this might be the best available alternative.

The 12th generation Intel UHD graphics in the i3-1215U could meet basic requirements for low settings on AOE4, potentially offering slightly improved performance if certain presets are adjusted.
